Returns are on a calendar year basis
Returns in the table cover a fixed January to December calendar year period. This includes the 3y and 5y columns. Where a fund's history does not cover a full window, the cell shows a dash.
Returns are reported gross of (before) PRSA annual management fees
Fund providers vary in how they report fund returns. For some, the reported returns are *before* the PRSA annual management charge (gross), while for others, the reported returns are *after* the PRSA annual management charge (net).
To put reported returns on the same footing we gross up the provider's annual management charge when it is deducted inside the fund (Irish Life, Standard Life, Acorn Life). This way, all returns are stated on a "before PRSA fees" basis.
Realised returns will be lower after taking into account PRSA charges which may include:
- Contribution charges
- PRSA annual management charges
- Dealing charges (for brokerage-style PRSAs)

Brokerage PRSAs
